What the Times has forgotten .
What The Times has forgotten.
Or: the dirty newspaper about a dirty bomb in a dirty war
Dear chief editor Mr.Witherow,
The piece in your newspaper by Maxim Tucker from Donetsk, published at 12:02 AM, on August 1 2015 “Ukraine rebels ‘building dirty bomb’ with Russian scientists " is really able to bring whoever to inner conflict, so that he doesn’t know anymore whether he should laugh or cry about the stuff given in the article.
The article is full of statements without any proof, which are totally overlooking the realities of the Ukraine and especially those of the Donbas region.
Pictures of an explosion in Donetsk at the moment of the shelling by the Ukraine artillery dated 2014.
William Randolph Hearst, a newspaper tycoon from the USA, instructed his reporter Remington in a telegram in 1898 to stay in Havana (Cuba) and take pictures in order that he, Mr. Hearst, could provoke a war: "You‘ll furnish the pictures. I'll furnish the war. "
Shortly after the telegram the US battleship, which had come to Havana to pay a "friendly visit " (without any invitation), exploded. The pictures came into being and the Spanish–American War began (in 1898).
I hope that The Times chief editor John Witherow did not forget how it was then.
But The Times seems to have forgotten some other important things.
Let us take a look back to the facts:
Now we see a lot of US American military advisers and instructors in Ukraine. But they are here not only to train the official army units, but also the custom officers and the notorious Right Sector military formations, which often sail close to the wind. Even the Ukrainian Secret Service and the local police have been not left out in the cold by "coaches" from the CIA and the FBI.
You might have forgotten that the Maidan coup in Kiev had been only committed to make it easier for American military instructors to flood the land close to the Russian border?
You might have forgotten that the Maidan coup in Kiev had been freely instructed by the US Embassy? And that there had been special forces on the Maidan who fired both at the local police officers and at the demonstrators there?
Another visible signs of the US American presence and influence on those events are their reproaches to the EU leaders for being not hard enough towards Russia which became available to the public through a large number of hacked telephone conversations. Didn’t you know that? Or did you simply forget all these “important” details?
Let us recall the history and the causes why the Ukraine conflict had appeared. It was caused at least because of 2 important factors. Firstly, the Russian language had been refused to be one of the official languages in Ukraine in spite of the fact that Russian was spoken by about from 60 percent of all Ukrainian people. Large number of schools with teaching in Russian, - even in the East regions with mainly Russian-speaking population,- had been heavily reduced since 1991 or they had been closed. All official documents had to be drawn up only in Ukrainian. In this way Russophone population in the Ukraine felt itself more and more disadvantaged and discriminated .
Secondly, the Nazi paramilitary groups from West Ukraine (mainly from Galicia) which got trained and organized in camps in Galicia and even in Latvia with the help of their US caretakers, had became a real force which had to play its role in the coming events in Kiev and in Ukraine, being capable to replace the police and even the army. In this way various Nazi units and groups formed the so called “Right Sector” movement. That organization became unlimited rights, so it could stage repressive actions and persecute dissenters. The so called Right Sector also could form its sections in almost every region or a large town of the Ukraine. In this way, by the moment when the Maidan events began in Kiev, all of the Ukraine had been kept under control of the Right Sector groups, so they could quickly put down every kind of protest . The local police was practically paralyzed and disabled. We know many facts of violence committed by the Right Sector members against civil population in the East of Ukraine, which are still remaining unpunished.
The region of Donbas, its many places and towns with the local Russophone and Ukrainophone population who has raised against Poroshenko’s policy, is currently suffering from a massive shelling carried out by the Ukrainian army. There is a clear front line.
But don’t you forget that the area on the other side of the front line, which is used to be called Novorossiya (“New Russia”) , is also inhabited by a large number of Russophone people who are simply not able to flee from fighting anywhere. And these people are simply hoping for protection by the Donetsk republic’s armed forces from the aggression of the Ukrainian National Guard battalions, from the hordes of right-wing extremists such as battalion “Azov” is, no matter how all those radical groups and units may be called.
These people just want to be released from violence of the Ukrainian authorities and the Ukrainian army.
